    PROJECT STARTING

  • 2027 Skandia Gateway is finished. The fairway is deepened and the western quay is ready.
  • December 2027

    • In 2027 the fairway will be deepened and ready.

  • May 2026

    • Dredging by the west quay is estimanted to be ready during the second quarter of 2026.

  • October 2025

    • Contractor west quay finished.

  • August 2025

    • Deepening and widening of the fairway has a planned start. Dredging started.

  • November 2022

    • Agreed national cost, NCC to begin construction.

  • June 2022

    • Main hearing of environmental permit is held between June 1 and June 3. 

  • May 2021

    • When the depth of the fairway is three-four meters deeper, all vessels that carry more than 5000 containers will be able to carry a bigger load.

  • December 2020

    • A permit application, together with the environmental impact assessment, was submitted for examination by the Land and Environment Court on 22 December 2020.

  • June 2018

    • The government decided on a national infrastructure plan spanning through 2018-2029 whereas 1,25 billion SEK will go towards deepening the fairway in the port of Gotenburg.
